Saddle Stitching

Saddle stitching or saddle binding is a means of binding pages together by driving staples (better known as stitches) though the centre fold of a section or group of sections. Many magazines and newsletters are bound by saddle-stitching. Saddle-stitching is an effective and cheap method for binding materials that are up to 5mm thick.

Saddle stitched booklets can be stitched with or without a cover (known as a 'selfcover').

We carry out a number of specialised tasks on our 2 saddle stitchers for our clients including special match-ups, perforated inserts and more.  We also perform inline central hole punching especially seen on calendars.
