Crash Folding
Crashfolding is a specialised knife folding service to fold thin booklets to fit into envelopes.
Stitched or spine-glued booklets, normally up to 28pp depending on paper thickness, can be folded. The booklets up to A3 and down to a little smaller than A5 can be crashfolded. Depending on thickness and finished size, the booklets can be folded in half or thirds (the crashfolder can do a maximum of 2 folds). Typically, booklets between 8pp and 28pp on 80gsm gloss can be folded from A4 to DL to allow inserting into standard DL envelopes.
A3 booklets are often folded in half to A4 size to fit into mailing envelopes or plastic pouches.
